mimikaki (耳掻き)

I knew that Japanese (and most Asians) have ear wax that is different than mine, but I didn't know there was a entire custom to ear cleaning called mimikaki. It kinda reminds me of how Liz used to cut my toenails when I was a kid because they got long and curly. [I looked for a photo of a toenail to put here but, I learned, googling toenail images is not a safe thing to do. I will save you from looking at those images.] Okay, now I've learned that, I am going back to work...

i think the ear pick is scarier than the toenails. btw one of my classmates had a client in the student clinic with REALLY dirty smelly horrible feet. it was a dilemma which we all discussed in supervision. so, ALWAYS wash your feet before a massage if you don't want your massage therapist to speak ill of you.
