God loves you just the way you are. But He loves you too much to let you stay that way.

Ellen and I went to see Junebug on Saturday night. We liked it! The whole movie takes place near us (Winston-Salem) and is a very accurate portrayal of a part of the South and of Southerners. The characters are quirky but not caricatures. There is also a Jim Jarmusch quality to the cinemaphotography. The camera lingers on many scenes. The only disappointment I had is with the Yo La Tengo soundtrack. It seemed to be one melody/theme throughout the movie and I liked it (it is a melody similar to a track that is used in often in This American Life) but I just wanted more. I was kinda hoping for more of a Stephen Merritt/Pieces of April kind of soundtrack.
