Pet Rest Areas, a review...

In general, highway authorities think that a pet rest area should consist of a small sandbox filled with poop. We did encounter two pet rest areas with actual fences (one with a fire hydrant in the middle) but they were pretty gross and Miles usually wanted to go around to where the birds and/or people were hanging out. Also, Miles seems to prefer a grass surface for his pee vs. sand. After Miles was posed for this photo, the man in the background stopped and said, "What a beautiful creature."

i remember last summer, we got yelled at in virginia by a mean man who was patrolling the rest area. i was walking minnow beside a sign that said "dogs must be leashed," and he scolded me and pointed toward another sign, across the access road, which said "pet rest area."
